BLAZIN’ MUSIC Review: R&B Edition – A Seat at the Table by Solange
In this day and age, it is unheard of to have a music project that you can play in its entirety. However, somehow in the land of the musically mundane Solange Knowles has struck GOLD and the masses are raving about her third studio project, A Seat at the Table. If a true Throwback R&B Lover like myself can bang my head to this cd with a glass of wine (merlot) without hitting anything other than the repeat button, you’ve got yourself a winner and that is what Solange has done marvelously. My favorite thing about this collection is that there is something on there for every facet of the R&B Lover in you. Weather you prefer slow, melancholy, up-tempo, neo-soul style or even something for the bangers, it’s all there. My TOP 3 Head Bangers are “Don’t Touch My Hair”, “Weary”, and “F.U.B.U.”. This collection will touch you to your soul one way or another because it offers a modern day appeal with signature beats and vocals that scream the essence of what good R&B music used to be about! KUDOS to my new M.L.C. (Music Lady Crush) Solange Knowles for a job well down with her latest project, A Seat at the Table. I give it a resounding 5 Hearts because I LOVE this CD.
