Don’t Change to be Accepted…Be YOU & Make Them Respect It

As kids, we work so hard to fit in with everyone else. From fashion to recreation we want to do what everyone else is already doing. Thank God that as we grow, we get to change the show. Grown folks now know that it’s pointless to try to Fit In because we were all born to Stand Out! We are supposed to be different; different makes, different models and definitely, different, tasty flavors.  Truthfully, the variation is what makes the melting pot worth stirring if you ask me. Once we get completely comfortable with the skin we’re in, well that is when the real fun in Life and Love can actually begin.

Do You because life is not long enough to master being someone that you’re not! Expectations are important and yours of yourself should always be at the top of your priority list. Living up to another’s standards is a cop out. Living down to a lower bar because you are afraid of your own potential is played and you’ll be delayed in your growth if you let that fear win. Changing who you are in an effort to please someone else is a no go because there is no way to avoid disappointing them. It’s a part of the human condition, so you can achieve more showing the world the real you that those that don’t know are missing. Listen, there is nothing wrong with improving self, just don’t lose sight of the value in your worth. We each have a voice that deserves to be heard. Therefore, being anything less than authentic is totally absurd! Besides, no one can keep up the parade of a charade forever. Don’t Change to be Accepted, just Be YOU and make them all either respect it or reject it!

As always it is my pleasure to bring you another B Cyde Mental Meal to chew on throughout your week. Plan to JOIN the JAM w/the Soul Train of Radio Back on the B Cyde w/T Elice & Kymmie K Saturdays at 11 a.m. only on the multi-award-winning
