Pay attention to the people who Don’t Clap when You Win

ludacris-pointing

When a friend turned hater is revealed in your life, how many times did you say, “I wish I would’ve had a sign before I let them in?” For me, probably much like you, the answer has been plenty of times. I’ve been spit fire pissed at myself for my inability to recognize a phony at the front door and each time I wished I had a prior sign. The funny thing is that when we get past the initial bout of anger and resentment and resolve to look deeper at the situation, it then becomes clear we did get that sign. We just ignored what probably wasn’t as blatant at first. We chose to look passed the subtly of obvious signs that this person was not for us and may have even made lame excuses for them to those that may have tried to pull our coats to the bull before it started to stink. Please don’t be too hard on yourselves, just take heed to the lesson here to be learned. One sure fire way to spot a Hater in the circle is to, “Pay attention to the people who don’t clap when you win.” Allow me to break it all the way down.

A Friend is defined on dictionary.com as a person who is on good terms with another; a person who is not hostile. That said, the next time you find yourself in a winning situation, take a long look at who is there celebrating with you, and who is there for the show because that my friend is your first sign of a hater at heart. A true friend will never have a problem with the good in your neighborhood. Only a foe will have something negative to say or display behavior that is in total opposition to your happiness. It will not take a rocket scientist to see the difference. Be real and true to yourself at all times and accept the truth no matter how bad it hurts at the time. A little hurt now is better than a lot of hurt later. Friends like wins when a Foe will always say no! If ever again you need a sign when trying to identify a Friend turned Foe, always remember to Pay close attention to the people that don’t clap when you win and then let the check session begin!
