Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds is an American singer/songwriter, producer and musician that has penned over 26 #1 R&B hits over the span of his career and is the winner of 11 Grammy Awards.
His second studio album, Tender Lover, was released July 23, 1989 to critical and commercial success reaching #14 on the Billboard Hot 200 charts that year. It also opened at #1 on the R&B albums charts. Tender Lover’s hits include “It’s No Crime”, “Whip Appeal”, “My Kinda Girl” and “Tender Lover” and earned Babyface three Grammy Award nominations and a nomination for Producer of the Year.
His third studio album For the Cool in You was released August 24, 1993 reaching #16 on the Billboard Hot 200 charts and #2 on the R&B/ Hip Hop albums charts. Spawning the hits, “For the Cool in You”, “Never Keeping Secrets”, “And Our Feelings” and “When Can I See You Again”. The For the Cool in You album earned Babyface a nomination for Best R&B/Vocal Male Performance at the 36th Grammy Awards and won him the Producer of the Year award. Both Tender Lover and For the Cool in You have been certified 3x Platinum each by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
