Woman Found Shot in House Fire, Young Boy in Critical Condition, Detroit’s West Side

Tuesday afternoon, a house fire was discovered in the 7400 block of Clayburn street on Detroit’s west side. Firefighters were called, and when they arrived to the scene, they discovered two occupants in the home. One of the occupants was said to be a woman in her thirties, and the other occupant was described to be a young boy whose age was not disclosed. Reportedly, the adult woman was found in the home shot in the back of the head but still alive. The young boy was said to have not been shot, but was severely injured from the fire. According to witnesses, both victims were transported to a local hospital. Unfortunately, officials said, the woman did not survive her injuries, and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The young boy is reported to be still alive, but is currently in critical condition. According to officials, this is now classified as a homicide investigation, and the investigation is still ongoing.
