Chicken Baby Food Truck Review

Chicken Baby Food Truck Review

I made a post on Facebook not long ago, asking my Facebook friends to tag new resturaunts, food truck and neighboorhood chefs that they knew on my post so that i could contact them about doing food reviews blogs on my site. I was contact by a friend who works at the Chicken Baby Food Truck, which was located just outside of Detroit city limits when i visited. I took a look at the menu and felt like this woudl be a good spot to try.

Let’s start off with the chicken wings. Garlic parmesan is one of, if not my favorite flavor of wings, so it’s the first one I had to try off the menu. So, when I popped open the box, I was a little taken aback. All of the garlic parm presets that I have been bouncing back and forth between my palate and my brain on my way to picking up the dishes apparently wouldn’t be fulfilled as I gazed down at what appeared to be garlic parm dry rub on the wings. I guess I was expecting a little more of the double-spun, seasoned cheesy sauced up wings that you get from other popular wing spots, but nope. In fact, the french fries are what appeared to have the sprinkles of Parmesan on them.

So, okay, back to the wings. As I looked at it on my way to taking my first bite, I’m thinking to myself, now what kind of trickery did they put in this wing to make it taste like garlic parm without any sauce on it? It didn’t appear to be much more than a seasoned wing off of the grill. And when I bit into it, that’s actually what it tasted like. I don’t know if my taste buds are deceiving me or if they got my order wrong, but it seems as if I just got an order of plain wings with Parmesan sprinkled on the fries. Nonetheless, the chicken didn’t taste bad, it just didn’t taste like what I thought I ordered. And it’s only so much you can say about crinkle fries. I’ve never had those sprinkled with Parmesan that I remember, but I’m a fat boy on the inside so I smashed.

Now, this double burger was really a quadruple burger as far as I’m concerned. It was two extra-thick patties of hamburger, and really one patty could have been enough to be served as a double burger. The meat-to-bun ratio was ridiculous! I guess if you like big burgers, this is the one for you. But for me, it was a little too much meat. And the patty itself tasted a little meatloafy to me, but it wasn’t nasty, especially considering whatever kind of special sauce they put on the burger. It was actually tasty, just a little bit too much meat for me, and they gave me meatloaf sandwich on a hamburger bun with special sauce vibes. The same style of crinkle fries with the Parmesan sprinkles came with the burger as well.

In conclusion, like I said about the chicken, I’m not sure if they just didn’t give me the right kind of wings or if they wanted me to eat the fries at the same time as the chicken to blend the Parmesan off of the fries onto the bird, but I’ll give both dishes a five out of 10 because it wasn’t nasty, but it wasn’t what I expected each time. They could probably use a better choice of friends as well. I feel like it’s worth another try to first see if I even got the right flavored wings the first time and to maybe try something else like one of the pastas.
