Community Holds Balloon Release in Honor of Jeniffer Harris

Eastpointe, MI — Friends, family, and community members gathered at The Mc Donalds on 9Mile Road in Eastpointe to honor the memory of Jennifer Harris, a mother tragically killed at her workplace earlier this month. The heartfelt balloon release served as a powerful tribute to Jessica’s life, spirit, and the love she shared with her family.

Jennifer Harris, a dedicated employee at the McDonald’s was fatally injured during an incident involving a co-worker. The tragedy has shocked the Eastpointe community. In a demonstration of community support, McDonald’s franchise owner Yusef Alcodray announced he will cover the funeral expenses for the Darris family, emphasizing his commitment to helping Jennifer’s children during this difficult time.

During the memorial ceremony, Jeniffer’s daughters shared heartfelt messages dedicated to their mother: “We miss you so much, Mom. You were our everything, and we will cherish your memory forever,” said her eldest daughter, Emily. Her youngest sister, Maya, added, “Thank you for always loving us and being the best mom anyone could ask for. We love you always.”

A trust fund has also been set up to assist in caring for Jennifer’s daughters and support her family. Contributions can be made through  a GoFundMe account that has been established to accept donations from community members and well-wishers. The fundraiser can be accessed below:
