Family Dispute Ends With Murder Suicide on Detroits West Side

Detroit, MI — A tragic double murder-suicide rocked the west side of Detroit on July 22, 2025, leaving the community shaken. The incident occurred on Pembroke Street, near Eight Mile and Wyoming, following a heated family altercation inside a residence.

According to Detroit police, a man in his 20s was involved in a confrontation with 2 older male relitives inside the home.

During the argument, the young man allegedly pulled a firearm and shot both relatives. After the deadly exchange, he took his own life at the scene. All three victims succumbed to their wounds.

Officers are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the altercation to determine what led to this devastating event.

During live on-site coverage, citizen journalist Marc D’Andre spoke with a close friend of the victims, who informed us that the victims were family members—father, uncle, and son.

Adding to the family’s heartbreak, it was revealed that they experienced a profound loss three years prior when the suspect’s sister took her own life, deepening the community’s sympathy and sorrow.

The Detroit community has expressed condolences to the affected family amid this heartbreaking tragedy. Authorities continue to investigate, and no further details have been released at this time.
