Detroit, MI – Job Corps Detroit students recently had an exceptional experience at a podcast production workshop held at the Detroit Historical Music with 7 Mile Radio, under the guidance of owner Marc D’andre & organized by Mr. Norman of the Job Corps Detroit Center. The students collaborated effectively to create three captivating 15-minute podcast episodes. This workshop not only provided them with valuable technical skills but also fostered meaningful conversations and personal growth.
The students enthusiastically divided themselves into different roles for the podcast production. Two students took on the responsibility of hosting the show, showcasing their creativity and charisma. Another two students, positioned as interviewees, shared their perspectives and insights. Additionally, two students were assigned the roles of audio engineer and video engineer, ensuring top-notch production quality.
Taking place on Saturday, August 26th, 2023, the workshop facilitated enlightened discussions on various topics. One such conversation revolved around today’s fashion trends and the differences the students observed between their generation and the ones before them. They explored how fashion choices reflect societal changes and personal expression.
In addition to fashion, the students fearlessly shared personal experiences they had while growing up, navigating relationships with their parents and friends. This open and honest dialogue allowed them to connect with one another on a deeper level. One student, in particular, expressed how proud his mother was of his involvement in the workshop, emphasizing the importance of pursuing one’s interests. Another student shared how inspired and motivated he felt being part of such a project.
Marc D’andre, the owner of 7 Mile Radio, empathized deeply with the students’ experiences.
