The Mother of a student at Martin Luther King Jr Education Center Academy located at 16827 Appoline St, Detroit, MI is furious after her child sends her photos of the food being served to students at the learning center. Tyesha Davis, who has a total of 4 children who attend the school ages 13, 11, 10 and 8, was contacted by her son who said he was hungry because he had not eaten the whole day since he had been at school. When she asked why, he said that the lunch was “about to be nasty”. Her son sent her photos of what was served at lunch that day.

Davis’ 10 yr old Son sent a pic of what appeared to be soggy cold waffles, under cooked sausages and a portion of cold hard hashbrowns. A photo of expired cereal and spoiled milk that had been poured into the cereal by the student who was preparing to eat the cereal had an expiration date of 2/2/23. The photos were taken on 2/20/23 when the food was served. The student recorded a video of an open carton of spoiled chocolates milk that has also been served to students that day. He Photos of what appeared to be old fries and a burgers sealed in a tv dinner type trey, improperly stored sandwiches, fruit cups and carton of chocolate milk along with silverware that had appeared to be thrown into a milk crate like trash was also served to the students the day before.

Davis say’s another situation occurred the day before at the center with her 8 yr old daughter, who was punched in the eye by a Boy in her class. When she contacted the school and attempted to speak with a member of the school administrations about her daughter being assaulted, she was told that it was just a minor incident which was under control and handled already. The person she spoke with at the school, believed to be the principals son, could not tell Ms. Davis what position or tittle he holds at the school. No one has given her an explanation for the spoiled food served to her children at the school.
