Legendary Actress Cicely Tyson is Dead at 96

It was reported to us Thursday evening, the legendary actress Cicely Tyson is dead at the age of 96. Reports say, Tyson’s manager Larry Thompson, reported the news of her death without giving any information regarding the cause. It was said, the family of the late Cicely Tyson gave Thompson permission to report the news of her death to the public. Cecily Tyson began her acting career in around 1956, and she was the first black actress to star in a television drama. She was married to Miles Davis, a legendary jazz composer and musician. She and Davis were married from 1981 to 1988. She precedes him in death, Davis died in 1991. Cicely Tyson continued her acting career for many years, and achieved many awards. Some of her awards included: Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Performance in 1962, , Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie in 1974, BET Honors Award for Theatrical Arts in 2011, Tony Award for Best Performance in a Leading Role in 2013, NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Television Movie in 2015, and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016. Tyson was a powerful actress, and received recognition for numerous amounts of achievements throughout her life. She was married twice, but did not have any children. Cicely Tyson is going to be missed by many people around the world.
