In a heartbreaking turn of events, the life of a 2-year-old girl named Wynter Cole Smith came to a devastating end after she was kidnapped by her mother’s boyfriend on Monday, July 1st. The young girl’s lifeless body was discovered on Wednesday, July 5th, in a neighborhood on Erwin Street near Van Dyke on the east side of Detroit, Michigan.
The kidnapping sent shockwaves throughout the community, leading to an immediate response from law enforcement agencies. An Amber Alert was swiftly issued, with Detroit police and the FBI working collectively to track down the whereabouts of the missing child.

The suspect, who was identified as Rashad Maleek Trice of Lansing was taken into custody on July the 4th but refused to talk to authorities about the childs whereabouts. He has since been charged in Ingham county with charges that include, assault with intent to murder. first degree criminal sexual conduct. first degree home invasion, unlawful imprisonment, aggravated domestic violence (2nd offence) UDAA, and felonious assault. Bond has been denied. More charges are expected to me filed upon the discovery of Wynter’s body.
