The legendary rapper, DMX whose real name is Earl Simmons, was reported dead today at the age of 50. The rapper suffered from what was said to be an overdose, on April 2nd, and went into cardiac arrest. He was then reportedly put on life support at a hospital in White Plains, New York. According to sources, his family was by his side the entire time, as he was fighting for his life. There was a statement put out by the family that says, “Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end,” “He loved his family with all of his heart, and we cherish the times we spent with him.”. The family put out the statement of his passing earlier today. DMX has been a rap legend since the 1990s, with several Number 1 Albums. The rapper brought a unique and indelible style to hip hop and music altogether. DMX leaves 15 children to cherish his memory, according to sources. He also leaves a huge fan base from all parts of the world, to keep his memory and music alive. Earl Simmons, better known as DMX, will be sincerely missed.
