Detroit, MI – July 2, 2025 – A violent incident occurred this morning aboard a bus traveling along East Eight Mile, resulting in one person being shot and the suspect later apprehended by authorities.

The incident took place around 7:30 a.m. on a Metro Detroit bus operating near East Eight Mile between Mt Elliot and Sherwood. According to initial reports, an argument erupted between two passengers. During the altercation, one individual produced a firearm and opened fire, striking another passenger.

Following the shooting, the suspect exited the bus on foot near Vandyke. Warren Police responded promptly and managed to detain a person of interest approximately 8 blocks away, near Vandyke and 8Mile. Authorities have not yet disclosed the identity of the suspect or the victim, nor the motive behind the confrontation.

The victim was trasnported to a nearby hospital and was reported to be in serious condition. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
