Things Got Heated at the Demonstration in Harper Woods

There was a demonstration held at the Harper Woods Police Station, Friday evening. In attendance was 7mile Radio (only for news coverage), Judah Awoke Ace of ‘Truth Talk Nation’, Negus Vu of ‘The People’s Action’, Teferi Brent, Malik Shabazz, family members of Priscilla Slater and Lewis Nichols, and several other activists and supporters. They were there demanding answers behind the death of Priscilla Slater and the whereabouts of Lewis Nichols, says demonstrators. Allegedly, one of the family members of Priscilla Slater said, her face was swollen and neck was bruised. It was said, the facial swelling and neck bruising was observed at the time of identification of the body. Lewis Nichols is now in the custody of Wayne County, says officials. The Police Chief and Mayor of Harper Woods, came out and spoke to the crowd of demonstrators; the Mayor’s wife was also present. It was said, the Mayor’s wife got frustrated during the demonstration, and allegedly tore up a sign that one of the demonstrators was holding, and threw it on the ground. That’s when things got heated. Allegedly, this is the sign the demonstrator was holding:

The crowd was presumably triggered by her actions, and stormed towards her. She then allegedly ran into the building with her husband and colleagues, for safety purposes. Allegedly, one of her colleagues stood at the door and tried to mediate the situation; but it didn’t work out well, and she joined the Mayor’s wife inside of the building. It was said, the family of Pricsilla Slater has employed Geoffrey Fieger as the attorney to represent them in the matter of her death. Lewis Nichol’s family was allegedly told that he will remain in the custody of Wayne County until further notice, and he is facing 20 felony charges. 7mile Radio was able to catch some footage and photos of the demonstration.
