DETROIT, MI — Residents of Longview Street near Chalmers on Detroit’s east side discovered the body of a deceased man in an abandoned vehicle early Saturday morning, prompting an investigation by local authorities.

According to residents of a nearby apartment complex, the discovery was made after children riding their bikes near a parked car noticed something unusual. The residents state that the vehicle had been sitting abandoned in the lot for close to two years.  A call was made to Detroit Police shortly after 10 a.m. on July 12th.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers confirmed the presence of an unidentified male deceased in the back seat of the car. The circumstances surrounding the man’s death remain unclear, and authorities have not yet released his identity pending further investigation.

Detroit Police are currently examining the scene and gathering evidence to determine the cause of death. They have urged anyone with additional information or surveillance footage from the area to come forward as the investigation continues.
