Is Kwame Kilpatrick being Released from Prison?

It has been reported, that Kwame Kilpatrick, the former Mayor of the City of Detroit, has been permitted early release from prison due to Covid 19. Kilpatrick was originally sentenced to 28 years in prison, and has been incarcerated since the year 2013. He was convicted of racketeering, perjury, mail and wire fraud, among several other convictions. The former Mayor was not predicted to be released until the year 2037. Reportedly, it has not been verified by the Justice Department as of yet; but it has been said, according to Ebony Foundation, Kilpatrick has been awarded early release. The Ebony Foundation, among other sources, have been rallying for some time for the release of Kilpatrick. It was said, they asked for clemency to be granted on behalf of former Mayor Kilpatrick, by President Donald Trump. Reportedly, Ebony Foundation has released a statement saying Kilpatrick has been granted release from prison. Here is the alleged article of the statement:

Additionally, information was given to us by an anonymous source. According to the information received, allegedly, Kwame Kilpatrick will not be able to run for public office ever again. It was said, he received most of his convictions while under official duty as Mayor, and that part of the sentence allegedly cannot be overturned.
