Protesters rallied Sunday evening, in South-West Detroit at Patton Park. It was stated, the rally began at Patton Park, and continued down Vernor to Clark Park. Later that evening, around 9:30 p.m., the protesters began to march back to Patton Park, according to reports. Allegedly, during that time, protesters had an incident with a police vehicle. Reportedly, two of the protesters were seen climbing on top of a police SUV, and other protesters were seen surrounding the SUV. An officer was said to have been behind the wheel of the SUV at the time. The officer allegedly sped off, causing the 2 protesters that were on top of the SUV to eject off of the vehicle to the street. Several others were injured in the crowd, according to reports. It was stated, the police were trying to prevent protesters from marching back to Patton Park, and a group of protesters were around the police vehicle to allow others to march back to the park. The protest was intended to be a peaceful protest against systematic racism and police brutality, and people of all walks of life were in attendance, according to protesters. The back window of the police SUV was smashed and the investigation is ongoing, according to police. Here is the alleged video of the incident:
