It was reported Wednesday evening, that Deputy Chief John Vorgitch and Patrol Officer Michael Pineau, were both fired by the City of Harper Woods. According to reports, the two officials were fired for manipulating and concealing evidence in connection with the Priscilla Slater case. Priscilla Slater was a 38 year old woman that died in Harper Woods Police custody earlier this year. The Harper Woods interim city manager, John Szymanski, released a statement to the press. He announced the firing of both city officials, and said the investigation of Priscilla Slater’s death is still ongoing, according to reports. Reports indicate, Deputy Chief John Vorgitch asked Patrol Officer Michael Pineau to manipulate and conceal some information within a police report, and that is why the two were fired.
