Mother Protects Her Son During Traffic Stop in Elk Grove, California

There is video footage going around on social media, of a woman presumably recording her son and an officer during a traffic stop. In the video footage, the woman explains that her son was being stopped by an officer for running a stop sign near their home. The woman says, she told her son to give the officer his driver’s license, registration, and proof of insurance. She goes on to say, the officer repeatedly asked her son if he is on probation or parole. She said her son answered the officer, by saying no, he is not on probation or parole. The footage shows the officer holding what looks like her son’s driver’s license, registration, and proof of insurance. The mother is asking the officer, in the video, to write her son a ticket for running the stop sign. According to the footage, it looks as if the officer just stood there holding the paperwork with her hand on her gun. It was said, the officer called for backup, and several other officers arrived on the scene. The mother is seen in the video, speaking to the other officers that arrived on the scene. She explained, the female officer conducting the traffic stop, refused to give her son the traffic ticket, and held them in front of their home with her hand on her gun. The identity of the female officer was reported to us as Officer Misty Johnson. The mother stated, that she refuses for her son to be another hashtag, and that is why she remained on the scene in defense of her son, according to reports.
